Michael J. Allen is a star-lord and USA Today bestselling author of character-driven, multi-layer, full-spectrum science fiction and fantasy novels - pretty much whatever madness sprouts from his head.
Growing up, he was inspired by the wondrous insanity of Robin Williams, Danny Kaye, Terry Pratchett, Weird Al Yankovic and others. They inspired him to dream bigger and seek out the fun in things. That's why after finishing a book, you can find Michael spending the day playing classic stand-up arcade games.
He's lived all over the United States, but prefers the Pacific Northwest for its cooler temps, blue waters and raging storms. Despite that, he currently makes his home in the far too hot and humid southeast with his black Labrador Magesty and a massive collection of toy starships.
In his downtime, he uses those ship to choreograph space battles - totally not playing with his toys. He loves hanging out with the crew of Starfleet International’s U.S.S. DaVinci debating all things Sci-Fi. He also loves good food, cooking, bad fantasy movies (i.e.: Hawk the Slayer), and playing D&D when he can find a group.
After overcoming financial obstacles that kept him from his dream of being an author, Michael recently certified as a master financial coach. Now, he uses that knowledge and passion to help guide aspiring writers plan their way to their authoring dreams.

Why Delirious Scribbles?
Like stories, the answer has several layers. I've long been a fan of the work of John Candy, starting with one movie in particular: Delirious. The protagonist of the movie is a writer transported into his written world where he finds his typewriter capable of molding the world to his desires. I love the concept that a writer can mold and improve a world through his writing. At one point on a forum after a discussion with my primary advance reader about how I looked when at my keyboard when my fingers tried to keep up with a writing frenzy, I picked up the title Delirious Scribbler. It stuck, so if I'm a delirious scribbler, then my works are delirious scribbles. Welcome. I hope you enjoy my scribbles.
Star-Lord? What's that all about?
So, there I was browsing Facebook, as you do, when I saw an ad selling preserve land oversea = land that came with the title of Lord. Out of the piles of superfluous minutia of my mind, came a memory of another ad for registering stars. A quirky idea in my head and a smirk on my face, I did the research and located reputable sellers.
Registering the star first as "Michael J Allen" I then purchasing the piece of preserve in the same name. It's weird and geeky, I know, but that little bit of whimsy arranged just so makes "Michael J Allen" a star and a lord in that order = a star-lord. Whatever, it made me giggle, and that's all that matters.
